What do great public speakers and great opera singers have in common?
They both touch our emotions.
When Benjamin Zander promoted the love for classical music in his milestone setting TED talk, the 50th stage anniversary of Montserrat Caballé at her beloved Gran Teatre del Liceu was still three years away.
When Rose and I saw the living legend and her friends live yesterday – among them big names like José Carreras, Joan Pons, Juan Diego Florez – I thought of Benjamin and how right he is.
In his TED talk Zander points out that if everyone loved classical music we would have peace on Earth. I don’t know about the world, but those 2,292 people yesterday, for sure, shared this feeling.
Thank you, Montserrat, for more than 50 years of promoting peace.
Thank you, Montserrat, for more than 50 years of making us smile.
